A large (and slightly spooky when lit) TV lamp of the Horned Owl variety, made of ceramic and hand painted with lots of detail and texture. The lamp stands a nice 11.75" tall to the top of his horn and has a wingspan of 9.75". It is hand painted and has two holes for its eyes - both of which glow when the lamp is lit. The well for the chandelier bulb is on the back, and it can be turned off on on via a switch underneath the socket. It is signed "R. Kron" on the side, which is the logo of Howard Kron, the primary designer for Texans Incorporated, a ceramics manufacturer that was in the small Texas town of Bangs. They were in business for 30 years (1952-1982). The lamp is in good condition with the small exception of a chip on the base in the back, just under the switch (see pic) that a touch of black paint (or magic marker) can cure (or not, it's small and on the back....). There is felt on the bottom to protect your furniture, and although the middle has been punched in, it still serves its purpose. One neat thing is that the lamp still retains its original "Happy Home" hang tag from Woolworth attached to the cord (sorry, no price sticker!) Great for mood lighting, Halloween bashes or *gasp* for use on top of the TV. Quite the helpful Hooter, you'll like!
