Rare & Exquisite Hand Painted Gyrfalcon Vase

Coming from the estate of a prominent Missouri Doctor, this HUGE and fantastic porcelain vase originated in Germany, where a very skilled artist hand painted it in realistic perfection. Done in hues reminiscent of Bing & Grondahl or Royal Copenhagen, with soothing tones and detailed features, a Gyrfalcon waits on the front, perched for prey and expectant of the hunt. A portion of the mountain and sky extends to the back area, while the bird and sky curve around the sides. As mentioned, the vase is large, measuring 13 3/8" tall, 8" long and 4.5" wide and is in clean, excellent condition despite its age. The mark on the bottom indicates it was produced by the Friedrich Kaestner Porcelain Factory of Oberhohndorf, Germany between 1885 and 1929. This is one you have to see in person to really appreciate, the pics don't even come close. It stopped me in my tracks when I happened upon it, I am CERTAIN it will do the same for you!
