A super jewel box from the 1920's, featuring a print done in the French style on top. On it you'll find a pair of women gathering flowers in a garden while a colorful Cockatoo watches from a nearby branch. The print (and thus the top of the box) is covered with glass and matted, then surrounded by a wood frame with designs stamped into it. The base of the box is also of wood and footed, with more stamped designs and black paper covering the bottom. Opening the hinged jewelry box reveals a mirror on the reverse side of the print and a glass covered base with a wood divider. Measuring 10.25" x 8.25" x 3 3/8", the box is large and deep enough to hold lots of jewels and gorgeous enough to look grand while doing it! While I do see that the original lifting ribbon is missing from the lid front and spy some age spotting underneath the glass inside (as well as a missing divider) the box is in exceptional condition for its age and is certain to thrill its new owner.
