Byrdes Crystal Cigarette or Trinket Box

A sparkling crystal box from West Germany, sporting an etched and carved bird on its lid and another on its base, which has been pressed into the glass on the underside. The box also has linear designs, which catch and reflect the light, as well as scalloping along the edges and sides. It was created by the now defunct company of Hofbauer (who went out of business in the 1990's) and was part of their Byrdes Crystal Collection. It measures 4 7/8" x 3" x 1.75". A chip on the underside of the lid is all that keeps it from being perfect (see pic) and it is quite hard to spot because of the design (it's also covered when the top is on). This is a seldom seen piece in the collection and quite a handy one, too. I'm certain you'll be pleased!
