An outstanding bone china and bronzed metal sculpture of our national symbol, the Bald Eagle, shown perched and poised as if ready for flight. The figure was made in 1985 by Royal Worcester of England and was the first issue in the "Great American Birds of Prey" collection. It is part of a limited edition of 9,800 worldwide and was created by the artist David Friar, although I understand there were production problems and the actual amount created was much less. The figurine is the largest in the series, measuring 8.5" in height, 6.5" in length, and 3.75" in width, from wing to wing. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, not even around the ankles as this particular figure is inclined to have. The Eagle has a medallion on the bottom which reads "Birds of Prey, 1985 Royal Worcester, Bald Eagle, Made in England, An Edition of 9,800". Well done with realistic coloring and hand painted details, I am certain you will be pleased with it.
