Hutschenreuther Cracker Jar w/ Parrot Protectors

Sure, you've heard "Polly want a cracker" all of your life but it seems these Pollys already have theirs! They can be found on the sides of an old cracker jar or biscuit barrel from Germany, and each of the four Parrots is clutching his very own treat. The birds are simply handpainted in muted colors and the deco shaped jar is additionally decorated with gold at the lid, handles and inner rim. It measures 10.75" in length from handle to handle and is about 5.25" high to the top of the lid's knob. Despite its age you'll find it to be without chips, cracks or repairs, just some paint loss to the gold areas and some extra color near one bird and one edge (see pics). It is marked with a Hutschenreuther logo on the bottom which dates it between 1857 and 1920, and even though it's quite obvious these babies aren't willing to share THEIR treat, YOURS can be safely stored inside as it's quite clean. So, roll out the barrel and give these birds a new roost. They can hardly wait to see whatchagot!
