Victorian Candleholder & Tray w/ Tottering 'Toos

$650 USDVictorian Candleholder & Tray w/ Tottering 'Toos

Antiques:By Period, Style:Victorian
A spectacular piece from late 1800's Europe featuring a pair of teeter-tottering Cockatoos flanked by glass candleholders. A tray for placement of treats is below, with a handle above for transportation (you know how 'Toos are -love to be carried...) The piece is made entirely of brass, save for the candle cups, which are brass, and the Cockatoos, which are bronze. It is nicely sized at 7" x 7 1/8" x 10.5" and is in good condition for its 100+ year history, though it shows its age via a crack in ...

It was created by Harrison Brothers & Howson of Sheffield between 1862 and 1897 and is in exceptional condition with almost no ...
Late 1800's Parrot Figural Pin Cushion

$195 USDLate 1800's Parrot Figural Pin Cushion

Antiques:By Period, Style:Victorian
Recently flown in from England and looking great for his 100+ years, is this Parrot pincushion with a stoic expression (which makes sense given the poking and prodding he receives). He's a wee one, measuring 3.75" from beak to tail, and 1.25" wide at his Birdie breast yet is quite heavy and well made, with excellent Parrot-y detail and an elegant patina. Unmarked. Just the thing for bedrooms and boudoirs and devotees of the Victorian and antique. Quite a catch, you'll have fun pinning your hopes ...
SOLD Victorian EPNS Cockatoo Gong from Europe

SOLDSOLD Victorian EPNS Cockatoo Gong from Europe

Antiques:By Period, Style:Victorian
Just as Cockatoos are accustomed to being heard, so too is this melodious turn-of-the-century silverplate gong, complete with said creature displaying (and displayed) on the top. Made in Europe, it came to us by way of the United Kingdom and dates to around 1870 or later. The gong itself is crafted of electroplated nickel silver which has been hammered, and the striker is covered with skin (and hard underneath). This magnificent piece stands 11.25" tall to the top of the Cockatoo's wings and is ...
