From out of a nice estate collection, this is a vintage beaded purse with red glass beading in a swag design. This is a color not often found in older beaded purses. The beading is done on khaki tan silk sateen with matching crocheted lace at the top, There are metal loops sewn into the inside through which a double strand of brass chain is threaded to draw the top closed. Just beneath the lace is some looped fringe. This purse measures 7" across and 5 1/2" long, not including the chain, which adds another 3 1/2". This antique purse is in EXCELLENT vintage condition...no bead loss. The original silk sateen lining is beginning to show wear in a few places near the top. I believe this dates to around 1905-1925.
