SALE VERY RARE Crocheted Miser's Purse w/Steel Beaded Fringe

From out of an estate collection this is a VERY HARD TO FIND "string" purse or "miser's" purse that dates to the Victorian or Civil War era. It was crocheted by hand using maroon colored cotton thread and trimmed with steel cut beaded fringe. This string or ring miser's purse has two flat pouches, which are connected by a ring at the top, so it could be looped through a belt or sash or even hooked onto a button. If you lift the flap up and pull gently on the pouch, you will see a number of strings. The coins would be slipped into these "slots". The object, of course, being to keep the coins secure. These are EXTREMELY RARE, and this one is in EXCELLENT vintage condition, so don't miss out!
