From out of a nice old estate collection, this vintage tapestry purse definitely has some age to it. It has a different ROMANTIC scene on each side depicting courting couples, gardens, flowers and classic buildings in the distance. It was made by hand using tiny petit point stitches. It has an engraved gold-tone metal frame with ornate filigree clasp in good working order. This measures 6" across the frame at the top and 7 1/4" across its widest point on the body. It measures 6 3/4" long from the top of the clasp to the bottom of the purse, not including the chain which adds another 5". The inside is lined in yellow satin, and their are two small pockets. I could find no tags or marks of any kind. This purse is in excellent vintage condition. The colors are slightly faded and muted with age, and it could probably benefit from a cleaning. I see no damage to the tapestry or stitches. The lining is secure and lightly soiled, consistent with age. The frame is straight and it snaps shut securely. It is slightly tarnished with age, but polishes up nicely when rubbed. These minor problems would be so easy to rectify, and you would have a first class tapestry purse. I have taken them into consideration for the price, but this purse displays beautifully as it is and is QUALITY handwork!
