Vintage Japanese Damascene Compact - UNUSED

This vintage compact is UNUSED but comes to you from an estate collection. The top of the lid has an UNUSUAL damascene-like design with a Japanese geisha or lady standing on a bridge overlooking a village with pagoda. This charming scene is iridescent silver-tone metal against a matte black background. The rest of the compact is highly polished silver-tone metal. It measures 3 1/8" and opens to reveal its original puff and powder screen. The puff is marked "Elegance", and there is a card beneath the powder screen which is mostly in Oriental characters, but also reads "Elegance" at the bottom. The compact is in excellent vintage condition...mirror intact...and it comes in its original pouch which shows signs of age.
