From out of an estate, this dainty turn of the century ring has a carved cameo of a woman in profile who is wearing a tiny silver necklace. This kind of cameo is called cameo habille, from the French word meaning "dressed cameo". They typically have a woman wearing a tiny jewel...a "jewel within a jewel". The necklace is probably sterling, and I can see a tiny diamond chip in the center of the necklace. The color of the gold has a rosy look to it, and the romantic setting enhances the prong set cameo. The ring is about a size 4 and measures about 3/4" in the front. It is marked "10K" on the inside of the band and is in excellent vintage condition. This would make a LOVELY addition to any collection...ROMANTIC gift idea too!
