We supply the highest quality antique porcelain all of the way from England
This very desirable Worcester teapot is of a slightly barreled shape, & with a faceted spout, & is very finely painted with bouquets & floral sprays in overglaze enamels, it is very similar in style & decoration to pieces from the Winterford House service, as mentioned above, where a teapot sold for £2300 (£2840 inc buyers premium & tax), or $4600, & $5680 respectively.
This teapot, arguably of a more desirable form, but lacking its lid & with minor damage to the spout, is much more modestly priced.
The floral bouquets are very finely painted by a very accomplished artist. The quality is quite breathtaking.
The elegant shape with its faceted spout is clear in the photographs, as is the quality of the painting. The artist has even embellished the handle & spout with a small spray of flowers!
The shape of the teapot is extremely well proportioned, and the bouquets & sprays are very well balanced. The overall result is an exceptional teapot of wonderful quality.
The barreled shape with its faceted spout is much less common than the standard globular shaped teapot, adding to its desirability.
The underside shows a typical compact Worcester footrim, & it is completely unmarked as is common in this period.
Condition is Very Good with small chips to the end of the spout & a short associated hairline only. Sadly it is lacking its cover.
Measures 4 1/4 in high by 7 1/2 inches long (spout to handle).
