I have wonderful memories of shopping on Canal Street in New Orleans when I was growing up. The stores on this wide boulevard were lovely, and the street was beautiful. Sadly, that is not the case any more.
The handle of this 6" long sterling silver souvenir spoon by Watson is crammed with information about New Orleans. The front has the city seal, Bienville, 2 buildings, cotton and the Lee statue. The back has Gallier Hall, St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Monument, a gate of some sort and sugar cane. The bowl has a wonderful embossed depiction of Canal Street, complete with streetcars and tracks. The details in this spoon are amazingly bold, crisp and 3-d. This spoon is in excellent condition.
