This is an early 4 1/8" long English sterling silver master salt or mustard spoon. The bowl is heavily gold washed. The pattern is simple and elegant, along the lines of Gorham's Old English Tipt. There is an ornate, intertwined monogram. (It could be almost anything, but I think I see A .B.) I'm not too sure of the mark. I think it is 1828 (during the time of George IV), and the maker was possibly William Bateman. It was made in London. This spoon is in extremely good condition.
