This pretty plate is in the Apple pattern on the Brittany shape from the Applique line. Bright red apples, yellow blossoms and bold green leaves border the rim giving a raised enamel effect. Manufactured in 1954. Marked: G 54 N 5

History: The Applique process of decoration was a process developed jointly by HLC and the EI Dupont de Nemour company in 1953. The intention was to give overglaze decorations bold and bright colors and protect them from food acids and detergents. The A-104 Apple was made by Homer Laughlin for the McCrory stores.

Measurements: 9 1/8" diameter

Condition: No chips, no crazing, no wear. A tiny spot of discoloration, hardly worth mentioning but done so for accuracy.

Item ID: RL-0246
