RARE Early Script CORO Enamel Parrot with Basket Pin

Presented for your consideration is an absolutely beautiful enameled Parrot/Cockatoo brooch designed and signed by CORO. The pin is in excellent vintage condition and measures 2 3/4" long x 1 5/8" wide x 5/8" deep. The body of the bird is gold plate over pot metal and the enameling is vibrant red and black on the body and tail, and yellow and red on the bird's head. The parrot is sitting on top of a gold plated metal basket or bucket which is filled with bezel set round cut rhinestones. The rhinestones are actually clearer and shinier than they appear in these photos- I couldn't catch that in all the pictures.

There is very little loss of plating or enameling, there are no missing stones, and the locking clasp on the back of the pin works perfectly. The back is signed CORO in the old script with no angle dating this pin to the 1940s or earlier. The detail is amazing and the craftsmanship exquisite.
