Unmarked cocoa pot showing signs of use inside. Heavily gilded floral design with white flowers on thick gold leaves and stalks The decorate the pot.
The color runs from Creme yellow to blush brown, typical of the luster ware colors of 1930's,,,,
The pot is 9 1/2" tall to top of cover finial, and 15" around the handle just below the spout.
A twisted blown out design makes up the body of the pot, the spout and back of the pot are decorated as well.
The cover fills the top of the pot continuing the design and sports a pleated finial in white. There is a small chip on the inside edge of the cover . Gilded trim accents the top of the pot with white flowers among the gold design.
The handle is decorated with gilt and shows wear on the thumb rest.
I think the pot resembles other made in Japan pots from the 1930's,
