Nippon Gold Moriage Butterflies Chocolate Pot, Cups and Saucers

A lovely pot in great very good condition. White chocolate pot, with defined gold butterflies that flit amongst the blossoms on this striking pot. Six demitasse cups and saucers complete the set. The pot made of a fine heavy porcelain while the cups and saucers are fine translucent china and when held to the light your fingers may be viewed through them. Lovely shades of green are incorporated into the design of flowers. Striking pot in very good condition. One cup has a slight flake off the inside rim, shown in pictures. Very hard to find set, butterflies indicate love, or long life and you will love this set. Collectors take note, this pot won't last long. Pot is 9 1/2" tall to rim, 10" tall to top of finial. 6 1/2" from tip of spout to edge of handle. Saucers are 5" across and cups are 2 3/4" high. Marked: Hand Painted, E.E. Japan in circle with a flower in center. A continuation of the E.E. Nippon mark prior to 1920 after which Nippon ceased to be used as the name for Japan and all items had to bear the country name in English words.
