Nippon Chocolate Pot, Poinsettia, Hand Painted.

Lovely chocolate pot with a stunning design of poinsettias on a cream background. The stems and leaves of the flowers are touched with gold accents, a single poinsettia adorns the back of the pot.

The design is in the foreground of the pot, the background is a scenic view of a pond or lake with two sail boats, and continues around the back of the pot. The time of day seems to be at sunset or sunrise. The pot is lovely done in shades of red, green, cream, blue and touches of purple for the hills.

Overall height of the pot is 9 1/2" to the top of the finial, 6 1/2" wide from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle. The pot flares gently from the top and measures 16" around at the base.

Some wear to the gold at the top edge of the pot, the finial and handle are in good condition. The lid has a rough inner edge, no cracks or breaks. There are two marks on the pot which appear to be adhesive residue from scotch tape, I did not try to remove them . All in all a very nice chocolate pot for the collector of Nippon or Poinsettia Design items. the mark has mostly disappeared, but it looks to be the remains of the green leaf mark.
