Nippon White and Gold Chocolate Pot with Gold Bird

White, small chocolate pot, with a heavy gold moriage bamboo tree and a well defined gold bird flying to a branch. Beautiful to behold. Clean pot, some wear to the gold at the top of the pot and the bottom edge commensurate with age. The back of the pot shows a leafy branch also done in gold. Unusual design, pot measures 9" to the top of the finial. Marked in red, Hand Painted Nippon made in Japan. Pot was most likely made in late 1918 or 19 and bears both the Nippon and the Japan label as the McKinley Tariff Act changed the label requirements to show the country of origin must be in English words and not the former designation of Nippon(Japan in Japanese).
