Nippon Hand Painted Poppy Plate

Another lovely hand painted plate from the era of Nippon. A Beautiful Poppy adorns this plate. The leaves and flowers are outlined in sparkling gold with white moriage dots on the leaves themselves. Everything about this plate sparkles. I see peach, persimmon and white in the design. The design carries up the plate to a poppy bud, just opening with a tinge of persimmon at its base. The very edge of this 8" plate was outlined in gold which is mostly gone now, however, the plate sparkles without it and it does not detract from the plate.

Lovely plates make unusual and thoughtful gifts of beauty.

Plate is marked Hand Painted Nippon in red over a green crown.
