We are offering a breathtaking porcelain ewer, in the style of Austria or Bavaria 1870 porcelain. Many items from the factories were not marked with the company name or manufacturer. The beautiful ,and well executed, design of grapes and leaves on this pot is painted in colors of purple,mauve,lavender, rose and a shades of green, There is a heavily gilded 2" decoration at the neck, the curved handle has the same treatment of gilt. Ewer measure 11.50" tall , 15" around the full part of the ewer bottom. The cover is 2 1/2" wide and sits in a furled rim also decorated in gilt. I find no chips or cracks on this item, there is a craze line starting on the front, about 2" long but it would not photograph. The bottom is very thin, you can see your fingers through it when held to the light. A small pin hole in the bottom is also evident . There seems to be an extra drip of porcelain low on the ewer. Mentioned for accuracy, it is not a chip Lovely item, handsome to look at and sure to be treasured by one who purchases it or receives it as a gift.
