Marked with a symbol and made in Japan, this charming child size pedestal cup and saucer is truly a handsome piece. The cup is white, cream with gold tome fleur de lis and moriage cross hatch design with red flowers and gold tone centers. The top of the cup is red with a gold tone rim, the rim is repeated at the bottom of the pedestal. Gold tone accents on the handle as well. From the 20's when all manner of cigarette storage boxes came on the scene, this box, in the form of a trunk held by a Chinese porter ,would have graced a living room table. Today, we can use it for trinkets, potpourri or whatever you desire. He is in good overall condition, the elephant figure on the trunk lid is gilded and remains secure to the cover.
