Each bottle is made of clear glass, four with thumb print cutting, all with the etched floral design around the bottle. The bottles are in very good condition. One of the bottles (the oil) has two small nicks at the top where the stopper meets the bottle, but these have been polished, so that they are smooth to the feel. None of the other bottles have chips or cracks and are in very nice condition.
The silver plate lid on one of the condiment bottles has wear, as can be seen the photographs. One of the silver plate caps on the salt/pepper appears to have been replaced. The stoppers fit the oil and vinegar bottles, but they could be replacements.
The entire silver plated cruet frame is beautiful with the silver plate in very nice condition. Six slots have been designed into the upper part of the frame to hold each of the glass bottles. The footed part of the frame has a floral design, repeating itself as you go around the circumference of the stand. The middle part of the frame has a pretty and intricate floral design that encircles the frame. Petals, leaves, flowers are used in a repeated fashion on this pretty cruet set.
The handle rises 9" above the middle part of the frame and has an ornate decoration extending from the frame to the top of the handle. This set does come apart for cleaning. The Cruet set probably dates to the early 1900's, displays beautifully and could be used.
