About Us
As a child of six, I loved playing with my Grandma Anna May Staudt's dresser-top items; wonderful perfumes and cosmetics, knick-knacks and jewelry. As an incredibly generous and loving person, Grandma allowed me to remove each item to her bed, and then replace everything in my perfect order.
I searched for vintage jewelry online and I was "floored" by the vast amount of wonderful pieces, history and information. One of my first purchases was a pair of Florenza art glass earrings that I dearly loved. Next, I searched for pieces to match the earrings and found a bracelet and pin. Then I found and bought more and more and more vintage jewelry. Of course, I wanted to repair the pieces missing rhinestones,so I learned to measure and order and replace the stones. Next followed bead necklaces to re-string, and then beads that couldn't be re-strung. And I started creating my own designs with those beads.
After spending 30 years in the financial services industry as both a business owner and a corporate relationship manager, I decided it was time to explore a new world. You're seeing the result and I hope to welcome and get to know you as a Customer and Friend!
My artisan jewelry features natural stone beads, and unique new and vintage beads. I make many of the findings for my pieces, and also create polymer-clay beads and precious-metal clay beads and focal centerpieces. Commissions are always welcome; I sincerely enjoy designing unique made-to-order jewelry for my Customers
.
My business venture and website are dedicated to the memory of two very special individuals:
Grandma Staudt, who taught me at an early age to love and find joy in beautiful things. Anna's Vintage Jewelry is named in her honor. And Dan Kasoff, whose jewelry designs are wonderful treasures and an ongoing inspiration to me.
With each person we meet in life, however briefly, we give up a part of ourselves to them and they leave a part of themselves with us. Perhaps this is the most wonderful value and meaning of human society. I hope to meet You very soon!
Warmest regards,
Mary Ann Docktor-Smith
