Top vintage picks sourced worldwide.
This bag was made by Martin Van Schaak, one of New York's most exclusive purveyors of fine handbags. Too rarefied to operate from anything as public as a showroom, he preferred to call on his society clientele in their own homes. Any bag that bears his name is a fortuitous find.
Pictured on page 23 of my book, " Miller's Handbags; A Collector's Guide."
Striped satin with raised black velvet strips that sharpen the vibrant color of the satin strips they frame. Subtle rhinestone buckle accent on each side. Black satin lined interior.
Overall Condition: Very good vintage condition.
*Flaws: Some scuffing and wear to exterior edges. Not easily noticed. One faint mark on exterior bottom roughly one half inch in diameter.
A wonderful vintage collectible looks as good on a dressing table as it does when worn.
