Set of 5 Pretty Hand Painted Ivy Trail Bread & Butter Plates by Steubenville Pottery Co

In 1879, 25 citizens of Jefferson County, Ohio formed the Steubenville Pottery Company which lasted over 70 years. These smaller bread and butter (side) plates have their logo of the painter's palette and paintbrush with the condensed stamp which says: "hand painted-color fast- oven proof Steubenville Pottery Co. U.S.A." while the matching dinner plates (sold separately) bear the following stamp: "hand painted-color fast- oven proof", then again: "COLOR FAST-OVEN-PROOF- DETERGENT SAFE HAND DECORATED IN UNDERGLAZE COLORS BY SKILLED AMERICAN CRAFTSMEN FOR LASTING BEAUTY. Steubenville Pottery Co. U.S.A."

There are 5 each of the small plates, and 5 of the dinner plates, and all are in excellent condition (no chips, cracks). These are about 6.5" across, while the dinner plates are 10" across.

This is called the "Ivy Trail" design, and features deep forest green ivy leaves with dark chocolate brown tendrils and soft sage green smaller leaves on a creamy ivory base.

Beautiful set, highly collectible, wonderful in any season, but I think especially PERFECT to set a fall table!...but really would be gorgeous with red (or gold!) chargers for the holidays! (wow!)

The replacement value of these are $5 each ($25 total), we're listing them for only $15 for all five.
