Here is a very clever lamp made of metal for the arm, socket and hook, with the bottom design made to look like a heavy wrought iron trivet, made of lightweight but durable, and easy-to-hang plastic instead!

This is especially pretty with a globe over the bulb (unfortunately I didn't have any on hand when we photographed it) and would make a gorgeous glow on a back porch or even for a front entry hall! Has a wonderful old fashioned comfortable look to it, and adds a welcoming warmth in any area it's hung!
