Vintage Lustreware Big Beak Small Bird Pepper & Salt Shaker Set

These adorable tropic inspired salt & pepper shakers are only 1.75" tall, about 2" from beak to tail feather, and a little over and 1" wide.

They have that super shiny luster ware finish on their bodies, with a hand-painted matte green forehead and top of the head, dark orange beak and black and white eyes.

They are marked Japan on the bottom and have 5/16" holes in the bottom for filling. Both have small bits of cork rattling around inside them, and both have four small holes in the top of their heads for shaking out salt and pepper.

No cracks on these, although there is a rough spot on the bottom of one of them.

Fabulous BIRD collectibles; we estimate them to be from the early 1950s.
