We are on our annual buying trip, so our next shipping dates are Dec 1, 2 & 3; after that we'll ship Jan 1. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
It is in a lovely high gloss green glaze; the clay itself baked white and unglazed on the bottom, typical of McCoy early works, but not marked (also typical of early McCoy).
It is a fabulous, very fluid looking piece, with froth and curliques along the bottom, while the rim is scalloped and wavy.
Condition: this has a glaze pop at the toe (see photo) and a flea bite at each end under the rim (the first is the back, the second is the front one); each one measures a tiny 1/16".
There is overall crazing, but no cracks. Please see close-up photos.
Our consignor acquired this as part of a huge estate in the late 1960s; has been in storage ever since. She said it could be early than 1930s, but was comfortable that it was made in the 1940s at the very latest.
Any solid identification assistance is always welcomed. Thank you for looking!
