This wonderful vintage glove box has a flowing arts & crafts styled poinsettia flower design wood burned into it's INTERIOR lid as well as the exterior. The box measures 11 and 5/8" by three and 5/16" by 2.25" high. It is very lightweight wood; typically these were made from ash or balsa wood. Each piece of wood is 3/16" thick. Here's a pretty little burned wood box, made of lightweight poplar wood, or possibly birch. It measures 5.25" x 5.25" x 2" deep, and was made most likely as a home for precious handkerchiefs in the very late 1800's or early 1900's. This one features a Victorian lady with upswept hair and choker surrounded by pansies on the inside and OUTside of the lid, with sprigs of pansies on each side of the box.
