Fairfax County Virginia, A History. By Nan Netherton, Donald Sweig, Janice Artemel, Patricia Hickin, Patrick Reed. Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Fairfax, Virginia. 1978. Date: July 1978, Second Printing. [First Printing June 1978.] Pages: Size: 3 1/2" X 5 1/2." Blue-grey cloth boards. Greenish Blue dust jacket. The colors do not look like the scans. Key Words: Fairfax County History Books, Virginia Local History Books. Dates range from 1649 to 1976.

Contents: "In July 1974, as plans were being made for the observance of our nation's bicentennial, the Fairfax county Board of Supervisors authorized and funded a proposal for the writing of the first authoritative, book-length Fairfax County history." [snip] "Emphasis throughout the book has been on public life as revealed in public and private records and publications. To a lesser extent descriptions of domestic life are presented, derived from letters and diaries, from newspapers and other published sources."

Condition: There is a smudge on the top page edges, light and about 1/2" long. No writing found except the inscription shown and signed with two names. Wear on dust jacket edges. L-shaped tear on front dj, 1/4" X 1/4." Great book. A nice piece for your Virginia or Fairfax County collection.
