Copyright 1927, American Weekly, Inc. 31pp, with Index of Presidents and wives on the verso, front cover. Size: 5" X 6 3/4”. Brown paper wraps with black lettering, two staples. Self mailer.

Foreword: “ American history condensed to a half hour’s absorbing reading - that is this book. An aid, not only to help you win one of the 4356 cash prizes, totaling $50,000, being offered by the Hearst newspapers, but to broaden your knowledge generally of your country’s history.

What ‘ First Lady of the Land’ smoked a corncob pipe? What President had Indian blood in his veins? What President’s wife banned dancing in the White House?”

Note: The Baltimore American began publishing in 1883. Hearst purchased the paper in 1923.

Condition: There is a water mark running along the spine. Rust on staples. Some paper damage to cover, lower right corner. Lower right corner of cover has a crease and wear. the crease is through the entire booklet. Foreword page has some damage to the paper, upper edge. There are erasures for pencil marking on the upper corner on that page.
