McLellans at Obe’s Glen, Canisteo NY 5-27-1919. This is Mabel & Melbourne McLelland with “Auntie Baker” and children. The children appear to be her children’s age according to the 1920 census, but the postcard is written to her son, Varnum staying with grandparents apparently. The second boy could be another relative. Postmark: Canisteo, NY June 3rd. Two cent stamp. Size: 3 3/8" X 5 3/8”. MESSAGE: FRONT: “Mabel & Melbourne 1919 Vacation” written in pen, top edge. “Obe’s Glen 5-27-19" in white on photo. BACK: “Leave here in the morn June 3. Canisteo NY June 2nd 1919. Dear Varnum - Here we are having a lunch. There is just room for you between Auntie Baker & I. How is school coming. Tell Grandma to drop us a line at ‘Brodway [?] Central Hotel’ NY City. And let us know if every body is well and all right & if you are a good helper - will likely get back to Quincy about June 14th or 16th. Has been hot for 3 days. Cooler today. Lots of love from us all. Mamma.”

From 1920 Census: Saginaw, Ward 16, Saginaw County Michigan. M.B. McLellan 40y; Mabel McLellan 41; Frances [is], James M., Varnum A. and Walter. The 1910 census listed Mabel with Melbourne. In the 1930 census lists Mabel [widowed] and her children. There was a George W. Sanderson in Quincy, Branch Co. MI. in the 1920 census.
