1939 Vogue Dora Lee in Bathing Beauty RARE 11 inches

This is a RARE 1939 Vogue Dora Lee in her "Bathing Beauty" outfit. Dora Lee is an unmarked beautiful thin 11 inch jointed composition doll with a sad and wistful expression that is so captivating. She is a very hard doll to find and was dressed by the Vogue Home Sewers and is a tribute to them (Dora Lees clothing was never tagged or marked, but she was stamped to the bottom of her shoe "Dora Lee"). The composition body is in beautiful clean condition and is of excellent quality to the composition (examining super closely there is a tiny spot of crazing to the top of her left hand index finger). She comes with a blue ribbon First Place from the United Federation of Doll Clubs 49th Annual Exhibit 1998 New Orleans, Louisiana (UFDC). Please carefully notice her beautiful thick clean full blonde mohair wig, gorgeous face paint (small rub to the bottom lip and a tiny dot of a paint rub to the tip of her nose), strong sultry smokey eye shadow, full fur lashes to her sleep eyes (open and close well), beautiful clean condition, and stunning appearance. She has been recently restrung. The lovely cotton Bathing Beauty outfit is in beautiful clean condition (one button has some loss, and I have very meticulously replaced the waist elastic to the pants and the leg elastics have stretched) and beautifully designed as well. Once you see this outfit, you do not forget it, and is so typical of the fashions of the 1939 period for women. Dora Lee was well cared for all these years.
