1955 Alexander Alexander-kins Wendy Loves To Swim SLW

This is a 1955 Alexander 8" Alexander-kins Wendy Loves To Swim straight leg walker #406 with the Wendy Ann face mold and marked ALEX to her back. She appears to be in unplayed with condition, but may have been displayed. She wears her original clean and crisp lace trimmed pale yellow swimsuit (the suit came in several colors) and plastic glasses. Her arms do not hold a pose. Her straight leg walker mechanism works but loosely and her hips wiggle (a common happening with walkers). Her pert clear molded lash eyes open and close and "flutter" nicely. No cracks or splits. There are two "gray" spots to her hard plastic neck in front. and two tan spots that hide behind her swimsuit ribbon ties. Difficult to see in the photo, there is a tiny piece of plastic stuck to her back left facial cheek that was part of her making at the factory (like a microscopic flake of plastic that was on her before she was painted). She has very dark (brown) pupil-less molded lash sleep eyes. Of note is her beautiful face paint and rosy cheeks (her lips have not been touched). The yellow taffeta bathing suit is very clean, tagged and in excellent condition. Additionally, she has her original socks and fuzzy sole side snap shoes (some very very slight wear to the tip of the toes as you would expect). She has bisque like color skin tones and complexion. And lastly she has a perfect blonde triple stitched wig that is crisp and very shiny. This little cutie is pictured on the cover of The World of Alexander-kins by Patricia Smith.
