Design: This amazing red and white Coverlet measures 80" with 3" of fringe and 78" across. Four Angels in each corner hold the Laurel Wreaths and each side has the Parliament design on it.
History: Made by a Mrs. Chapman of Elmira Canada from their own sheep on a hand loom. Mrs. Chapman's daughter, a Mrs. Schlarlach died in 1945 at age 85. "Aunt Min, acquired this coverlet from Mr. Schlarlach in 1930." The current owner is the first person outside of this family to own this piece and she purchased it in 1990.
Condition: There is no other way to state the condition of this except to say it is excellent. This has been stored the majority of it's life, the fringe looks new. Their are no stains, rips, holes, signs of wear. It is likely to say that you will never find another one like this. The current owner says in her 40 years of collecting antiques, she has never seen on in this nice of condition.
