Some of us prefer dainty jewelry that is so lightweight, you can easily forget you're wearing it. If this sounds like you, you won't be interested in this amazing necklace from Mexico.
You won't be interested because you can't forget you're wearing it-- it weighs almost 87 grams! It's a great piece for those who like substantial jewelry.
Not to suggest it is uncomfortable, because it isn't-- the wonderful piece lies beautifully, and very comfortably, on the neck. Another bonus about the weight: it stays put (the catch stays at the back) and doesn't move around or flip.
The silver link necklace is from Mexico and dates to the 1980's. The open links are really fabulous: they remind me of dimensional horseshoes. The links aren't huge but nice and chunky and solid.
It measures 17&1/2" long, and closes with an over-sized sterling lobster catch. At the moment, the piece has a lovely patina, as it is lightly tarnished in all the right places. There is no damage at all, no dings, dents or cracks, major scratches.Very light surface scratching.
Back is stamped "MEXICO, 925, TP-22".
