Beautiful Victorian 18K Gold Cornflower Blue Sapphire Diamond Ring

I love sapphires when they look blue, such as these wonderful natural stones. The bright cornflower blue stones are a delight to behold, set inside this beautiful Victorian ring.

The two lovely faceted old-cut deep blue stones look stunning set in 18K solid yellow gold, with ornate scrolls to the top and bottom. A natural genuine diamond is set directly in the centre of the ring in a pretty flower setting, but in my mind, the sapphires are the major players here.

This is an ornate ring, typical of the era in which is was made. The middle "panel" (the front of the ring is designed with three individual panels) has beautiful scalloping along the top and bottom edges, and the sapphires are beautifully set in diamond shapes. Size is currently 7, and it can be re-sized (hallmarks are to the side).

The shoulders contain bold lines and a vertical row of depressed circles. All in all, it's a fabulous ring, and the 18K gold still glistens beautifully. Only light surface scratching can be seen under magnification, but no damage.

Now to the particulars: Stones are about 2 mm each; total weight is 2.7 grams. No thinning to the band. Inside stamped "18CT."
