Fabulous Vintage 9K Solid Gold Turquoise Drop Earrings

A beautiful pair of earrings these are, terrific soft green-blue real turquoise cabs surrounded in lovely solid gold frames and hung from exquisite gold wires.

The vintage earrings, that date to 1968, look exquisite on! I love the size of the beautifully set stones and the length of the earrings--8 mm and 7/8" respectively.

The turquoise may or may not have been more blue originally. Turquoise can be more green than blue naturally, but time and use can also turn the stones green from blue. For example, perfume and cosmetics, including sunscreen , and natural skin oils can attack the finish and alter the colour of turquoise. (Excessive heat can lead to cracking.)

As far as I know, this turquoise is natural, and not dyed or reconstituted.

The gold surround and beaded wires are 9K solid yellow gold. The pair were made in Birmingham, England and are fully hallmarked on the hooks and earrings backs.

Excellent condition. One stone has "blotching". This is entirely natural and not damage. Total weight: 2.0 grams.
