This amazing bracelet was made by famed Norwegian silversmith, David Andersen.

The wonderful vintage bangle was designed by Bjørn Sigurd Østern, who worked for the David-Anderson company from about 1961-1985. It is a solid piece, crafted from sterling silver and weighing in at a heavy 54.7 grams. Size is large.

The design is beautiful and modern. Simplicity, which defines modern Scandinavian jewelry, is key here. The lovely streamlined shape of the bangle is what makes Østern's (b. 1935) work so appealing.

The front of the bracelet, embellished with an extended raised curved line, measures just over 1". The piece tapers beautifully at the sides to just under 1/4", then widens at the back to a total of just over 1/2".

Now to sizing: Inner diameter is 2&5/8", which would fit a medium to large sized wrist. Bracelet is almost oval-shaped inside, which makes pulling it over your wrist and fingers eas

Bracelet is in excellent condition, with no dings or dents, or major scratches; just some light surface scratching. Tarnishing is present, but it could easily be removed. Inside stamped "DAVID-ANDERSEN, NORWAY, STERLING, 925S, INV. BS. Ø," inside an open rectangle. The "INV" stands for "inventor." David Andersen died in 1901 but continues to have a large stable of talented silversmiths working under his name .
