It's a gorgeous vintage pendant crafted in 14K solid green gold (an alloy made of gold mixed with copper, silver, zinc, and often cadmium. The copper is what gives it the greenish tinge).
The egg features a lovely gold bow to the top, and a nice large bail, all green gold.
The outstanding hand-painted enamel-work contains a fabulous intricate pattern featuring rich cobalt blue, bright green and white. Each colour is delineated into sections with beautiful gleaming yellow gold.
I don't know much about the origins of this egg, except that it is from Russia. There are no marks that I could find. I have acid-tested the bow and the tiny section of gold at the bottom of the egg and it does test as 14K gold.
The egg comes with an 18&1/2" 10K gold rope chain, also with a greenish tinge. I don't think the chain is actually green gold, but it is a good match.
Egg measures 1" tall by 5/8" across. Depth is about 5/8". Weighs 9.6 grams; chain is 5.0 grams.
Condition is excellent. There is some wear to the enamel in very few spots, but it's hard to see even with a loupe. One area that is noticeable under a loupe is at the very bottom on the white enamel. I've shown it in photo #5 .
