What do you get when you cross crochet hooks with silver? Crocheted silver jewelry, of course!

I bought this exquisite silver choker because I'd never seen anything like it. If you're looking for jewelry with an unusual, old-fashioned look, this stunning piece is a wonderful choice. It's certainly a conversation piece!

To begin, the maker has taken very fine wires of 950 silver (slightly higher grade than sterling, which accounts for the choker's white tinge), and crocheted them into a beautiful 14 & 1/2" long chord, which she has capped at both ends with a smooth silver hook fastener.

To the chord she has attached three lovely flowers-- also crocheted silver-- that hang below. Each one is decorated with beautiful bronze-coloured beads. I'm not sure if they are dyed pearls or not.

It's a lovely, very feminine look! The piece drapes beautifully on the front of the neck, and it is very easy to put on and take off.

I'm not sure how old the choker is, but I can't imagine too old. It is in excellent condition, with no broken or frayed wires.

The silver wire is beginning to tarnish, but it's easy to brighten it up with a quick polish.

Total weight is 53.5 grams. Back fittings are stamped "950."
