Sweet Pale Green Infant Girls Silk Coat & Shoes Smocking

This is a sweet coat for a baby girl. It features tone on tone embroidery on the color and smocking around the yoke, both front and back. The scalloped collar and cuffs both have open work detail. The shell is silk, I believe the lining is silk as well and it is backed with what appears to be cotton flannel for warmth. The coat was made by Babette Capitol Silk Corp.

Included is a pair of shoes, also in the same color silk, but the embroidered design does not match.

The child's coat measures approx 15 inches flat under the arms and is just over 18 inches long down the center back. The shoes are approx 4 inches long. I believe this dates to the early 1940’s. The coat is in very good condition, with no holes or apparent weak area’s. Only the middle snap of the 3 snaps is attached to both sides, both halves of the top snap are present, but only one half of the bottom snap is present. There is a non functioning faux pearl button at the yoke on top of the middle snap. The shoes are in good condition, but there is some wear on the soles near the heel.
