5" Ring Ware Stoneware Bowl/Crock Primitive

This size of stoneware bowl is harder to find then the larger sizes. I believe this bowl was made by one of the many pottery companies that made their home in White Hall, Illinois in the early part of the last century. The bowl is marked similar to the shingle bowl that is attributed to White Hall as well. The bowl is glazed in a nice soft blue green color popular in the early part of the last century.

The bowl measures approx 5" in diameter and 2¾" high. The bowl is in good condition there is some crazing of the glaze but there is very little wear to the interior of the bowl. There is one chip to the underside of the wide rim. The chip is probably almost as old as the bowl as the oxidation on it matches the rest of the surrounding unglazed areas. There are a couple of manufacturing flaws, including a couple of areas where the glaze was skipped. The bottom of the bowl is marked USA 5IN
