Alley Cats Vintage is proud to offer this exquisite 1940's black rayon and sequined evening gown.

Bodice has a wide portrait collar embellished totally with black sequins. Front bodice is a panel of black sequins running all the waist to the waist. The back neck closes with a single button and loop with a slit opening running down to the waist.

Dolman sleeves are full and long, winged cuffs with inside snaps. Waist is set in. Skirt is straight with pleated side inserts near the knee area which gives the skirt a flare.

The fabric is a solid black rayon. Color is a deep black but pictures have been lightened to show detail.

The condition is excellent. The only area of damage I can find is a corner of the collar has lost some sequins and a small area near the collar that appears to have a few missing sequins. I have photographed both of these areas. Otherwise this dress is in wonderful condition.

No label is present so please check the measurements below carefully.

Bust has a bit of extra room due to the open back, but I measured it laying flat and closed. Bust is 36 inches, waist is 32 inches, hips are 40 inches, length from shoulder seam to waist is 16 inches, length from waist to hem is 39 inches, shoulder span is approximately 16 inches, and sleeve length is approximately 22 inches. Shoulder span and sleeve length is approximately due dolman styling.
