Time to shop for that Spring and Summer wardrobe......
The inside is labeled “Fred Perlberg” who designed fabulous evening gowns starting in the 1940's.
There’s a side closing metal zipper which works perfectly.
The condition is very good for vintage wear, especially for a 1940 gown. It is freshly professionally dry cleaned and ready to wear. There are some flaws as follows and photographed. There are stains around the hem of the skirt which do not show much in the flow of the full skirt but they are there and I have photographed them. There is also some rub to the fabric on the back waist area and on the front of the shoulder, possibly where a corsage was worn. They are very slight and hard to see in the photographs.
No size label is present so please check the measurements below carefully, keeping in mind there is NO give to this fabric.
The bust is 34 inches, waist is 25 inches, hips are full, length from shoulder to waist is 16 inches and length from waist to hem is 41 inches.
Mostly this style gown was used as a bridesmaid dress but also used for proms and evening wear. I've seen several variations of this dress all done by Fred Perlberg. Currently I have the sister gown also listed.
