Vintage Goldtone Compact Purse by Volupte

This is one of those stunning compact purses made by Volupte in the 1950's into the early 1960's. The body is goldtone but has the look of brass.

The real beauty of this compact is the inside. One side has the hinged section for loose powder, and empty lipstick section and a square section with a Volupte comb in a fabric bag. The opposite section has two square empty areas for miscellaneous purse items. These sections are divided by a hinged door and one side is all mirror, so very chic.

All this closes with a ball clasp.

As to condition, the outside has a lot of scratches and shows a great deal of use. One side has a long darkened area which I was unable to clean off. The inside is nice, clean and very usable. Originally these compacts came in their own cover but unfortunately this one is gone.

It measures 6 x 4 x 1 inches.
