1986-1988, the Franklin Mint issued a series of cat figurines for the Curio Cabinet Cats Collection. Each cat was produced from a different material, in different countries, and reflected various art forms popular through the ages. This beautiful blue porcelain cat is done in the Parian style which layers white porcelain sculpted designs on the blue. This reminds me of Wedgwood Jasperware. This particular piece still has the paper label indicating it was crafted in Malaysia and stamped with the Franklin Mint logo TFM. The cat measures about 2.75" long and 1.75" high. It is in excellent condition. I do not have the insert on the history of Parian for this one.
